Bong Joon-ho is Back
The biggest news of the latest /Film newsletter is that we have new details on the return of Bong Joon-Ho. The Parasite director has a new film on the way in 2023 — Mickey 17, starring Robert Pattinson. A team-up of Bong Joon-Ho and Robert Pattinson just sounds like an inevitable (and smart!) idea, so I'm glad it's happening. But honestly, I'll see anything Bong makes at this point.
Elsewhere in the /Film newsletter, you'll find news about yet another Ghostbusters sequel, a review of a Grinch-inspired horror movie, and much more.

Video of the Day
Today's video of the day is a TV special from the 1990s devoted to the magic of movies! Specifically, matte paintings. You see, kids, back in the day, when movies needed huge shots of locations they didn't turn to CGI...because they couldn't. Instead, backdrops would literally be painstakingly painted. Sadly, because of digital tech, matte paintings don't really exist anymore. Which is a bummer, because I love me some matte paintings, and I miss them. You could always spot them in films, and yet, the magic wasn't ruined by the discovery. Instead, it was somehow enhanced.
