George Clooney and Julia Roberts Are Back, Tilda Swinton Says Goodbye to Parasite, John Carpenter's Best Movies
Remember the romantic comedy featuring big movie stars? That used to be a thing in Hollywood, or Tinseltown as I like to call it. But the subgenre has petered out over the years to make way for more franchise-based junk.
Those of you longing for a return to the old school, big movie star rom-com are in luck, because this week sees the release of Ticket to Paradise, a rom-com that reunites Ocean's 11 stars, George Clooney and Julia Roberts. We have a review of the pic below.
We also have a ranking of John Carpenter's best movies, a look at what's coming to Hulu and Disney+ next month, Alan Moore doing his Alan Moore thing, and much more.
Have You Heard the News?
Tilda Swinton was supposed to be part of the Parasite TV series, but that's no longer happening. In case you forgot, there's a spin-off TV series of the Oscar-winning film in the works, with director Bong Joon-ho and Adam McKay on board as producers. Not much is really known about the show, but one thing we do know now is that Swinton is not involved.
Walter Hamada was the Warner Bros. president for DC-based film production — until now. Hamada is out as the DC pictures head, which means Warner Bros. will have to find someone to run the show going forward. If they can't find anyone over there for the gig, I'll do it. I've got a big idea for the brand: more DC movies with scenes of Bruce Wayne's parents being killed.
Alan Moore, a writer notorious for disliking every single adaptation of his work, dislikes HBO's adaptation of his seminal comic series Watchmen. Who could've seen this coming?
Black Adam isn't even out yet, but there's already talk about which DC superhero(s) might appear in the sequel.
What's coming to Hulu and Disney+ in November? I'm glad you asked because we have the answers here! (If you didn't actually ask please pretend you did.)
