Tarantino TV, Blumhouse and Atomic Monster, Welcome To Chippendales
We just had a Quentin Tarantino story in yesterday's newsletter, but since the filmmaker is out there promoting his new book Cinema Speculation, more and more Tarantino stuff is trickling in. The latest: he's making a TV series. What's it about? We don't know.
Elsewhere in the /Film newsletter, you'll find reviews of both Dead to Me season 3 and Welcome To Chippendales, a look at the prospective Atomic Monster/Blumhouse horror mega-deal, info about a new Alien movie, and much more.
Have You Heard the News?
Yep, Quentin Tarantino is headed to TV. The filmmaker announced he's shooting an eight-episode TV series next year.
Blumhouse and James Wan's Atomic Monster are probably merging, which is going to be a big deal for horror movies.
Fede Alvarez is directing a new Alien movie, and Cailee Spaeny (Mare of Easttown, Devs) is set to star.
A while back we heard that Timothée Chalamet would star in a Bob Dylan biopic from director James Mangold. We haven't heard anything else about the project in a while but Chalamet says the movie is still happening.
The budget for Fast X has apparently risen to $340 Million. Oh, is that all?

Erin Brady reviews the series Welcome to Chippendales and praises star Kumail Nanjiani while adding that the show overstays its welcome.
